Haven
Wallpapers from your Mac's menu bar.
Haven is a macOS menu bar app for browsing Wallhaven and setting your desktop wallpaper. You can also browse images in your own folders, save favorites, and go back to wallpapers you’ve used before. It stays in the menu bar, with no Dock icon.
What it does
- Search Wallhaven, or browse Latest, Toplist, and Random, with filters for category, purity, resolution, and aspect ratio
- Browse images from your own source folders, even when you’re offline
- Mark favorites with a heart, and find recently used wallpapers in History
- Click a wallpaper to set it on your active display
- Save downloads to
~/Pictures/Haven, or to a folder you choose - If Wallhaven is down, Haven tells you and links to its status page
Haven uses Wallhaven’s public search API, so you don’t need an API key. Browsing is limited to SFW and Sketchy content.
Get it
Download Haven 0.7.1 from its releases page, with separate builds for Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 13 or later. Unzip it and drag it to Applications. The builds are ad-hoc signed rather than notarized, so macOS asks you to approve Haven before its first launch.
Haven is free software, licensed under the GPL v3 or later.
